Just bought my first home. It took over 4 months of contract negotiation and repairs. These are some pictures of various repairs and enhancements that took place prior to closing the deal. A new foundation with 33 piers inside and out, repair broken beams, remove old roof and replace with a new roof and decking, replace rotted exterior wood and repaint the entire house, a new kitchen/breakfast area/utility room vinyl floors, repairs to a jammed garage door and to top it off a complete termite extermination. All repairs carry a lifetime, owner transferable warranty with the contractors that did the work. The existing air conditioning unit is only 3 years old, the dishwasher is 2 years old and the water heater is 1 year old. I hired my own inspector and he tells me everything is in really good shape. Only a few minor things like cracked sheetrock, peeling wallpaper and some old carpet are up to me to fix. The deal was closed Thursday, August 17th, 2000. I am real happy to finally be an owner and not a renter.
